Tamil Nadu: Madurai hosts an 11-day book expo.

On Thursday, Tamil Nadu Information and Digital Services Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan opened the 11-day book expo at Tamukkam Grounds in Madurai.

The South Indian Book Readers Association and the Madurai District Administration are collaborating to put up the event.

This year, publishers and retailers have set up over 200 stalls with thousands of books from all categories and authors. Former DGP of Tamil Nadu Sylendra Babu visited the book fair and requested that the people of Madurai come to the book fair with their children and buy books for their children, as reading is the single most important ability that may propel the youngsters to the top.

"I appeal to all Madurai residents to bring their children, show them around, and buy a few books." The best books in the world are on display here. Make them read motivational books, science books, and fiction novels. "The only skill that can enlighten our children and propel them to the top anywhere in the world is reading," he told ANI.
